Tia Carroll was born in Richmond, California. She is one of the most requested Blues and Soul female vocalists.
She is known for her powerful vocal prowess, unrivaled songwriting and heartfelt delivery.
Often compared to legendary female singers Tina TURNER, Koko TAYLOR, and Aretha FRANKLIN, she nevertheless maintains her own unique style and sound.
Tia has headlined venues and festivals all over the world. She has shared stages with legends like B.B KING, Ray CHARLES, Jimmy MC CRACKLIN, Syl JOHNSON, Sugar Pie DESANTO, Tommy CASTRO, Elvin BISHOP, Igor PRADO, Eric GALES, etc.

She has won numerous awards in Blues and Rythm & Blues categories, including West Coast Female Blues vocalist of the year 2007, the Jus Blues Music Foundation’s Traditional Blues Woman Of The Year 2008, Band Leader of the Year in 2009, and R & B vocalist of the year 2011.
In 2012, she wowed the judges at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Corporate Band competition and won the award for best female vocalist.
Her other Awards in recent years : Female Blues Vocalist of the year in 2016, Blues Contributor (Spain) in 2017, Blues Contributor (Brazil) in 2018, Golden Gate Blues Society Ambassador of the Blues in 2019.
Her latest album " You Gotta Have It " in 2021, under the Little Village’s label, was recorded in Kid ANDERSEN's famous Greaseland studio with Charlie HUNTER, Igor PRADO, Jim PUGH, Kid ANDERSEN, Sax GORDON BEADLE, among others.
